WHY CHOOSE SUGAR WAX FOR MEN

Sugar waxing barecare

Sugaring is a method of hair removal which is quite common in Europe and US. And it is just about to get popular in New Zealand and Auckland.

  • Sugar wax extracts men’s strong body hair from the roots and helps prevent issues with ingrowns.
  • Cleaner and longer-lasting results on the chest with fewer ingrowns or infections. Important to follow simple aftercare recommendations.
  • Less painful on sensitive zones such as chest, back or male brazilian (manzilin).
  • Sugar wax is made from natural components and doesn’t cause allergy or intensive irritation, which is a common issue with other types of waxing made from chemical ingredients.
  • It doesn’t hurt the skin even for those customers who experience intensive sweating. (However, it is best practice to avoid physical activity prior to the visit.)
  • Sugar wax is NOT HOT at all and is applied with gloved hands. This allows us to control the temperature and eliminate the chances of skin burns. Moreover, sugar paste working temperature is about 38C, which makes it safe and comfortable even for chest, face waxing, and other sensitive parts of the male body.
  • It helps reduce sweating for longer as the skin remains hair-free for longer.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about sugar waxing

Do you really do male sugaring waxing (manzilian)?
Yes, we do. And we have accumulated significant experience in men’s waxing and male Brazilian in particular. It is no secret that the male and female body are different and require slightly different approaches to achieve a good, clean result that lasts longer. The main advantage of choosing us for male Brazilian waxing is the fact that we use sugar paste that doesn’t hurt the skin and removes hairs more effectively. The skin remains hair-free for longer and helps reduce ingrown hairs. But it is still important to follow a simple aftercare routine We also assure you that you will be treated with respect and professionalism.
Does sugaring wax work well for facial hair removal?
Absolutely! Sugaring works great on such sensitive skin as a face. We can do hair removal as well as shaping.
Do you do Hot Waxing?
No, we don’t. Sugar waxing has many more advantages over traditional waxing or hot waxing. If you try sugar wax at Bare Care at least once, you may never turn back to the other methods. But note that not all places are the same. Sugaring is just a tool. Experience matters for sugar waxing professionals too.
What is the optimal length of hair for male waxing?
The recommended length of the hair is 5-7mm for the first sugaring waxing. It is ok if you have longer, but make sure you have at least 5mm.
Do I need to trim or shave in prior to sugar waxing session
Please DO NOT shave or trim prior to the visit. Sugaring provides a better result for longer hairs. If it is too long, we will trim it for you to the desired length at no additional charge.
What is the optimal time between sessions?
Sugar waxing works differently from other types of hair removal, and there is no strict requirement for maintenance sessions. But for a balanced, clean result and a more pain-free session, the recommended interval is between 6 weeks and 2 months. If you take a maintenance session too early (3-4 weeks), then there is a high chance that some hairs are still hidden under the skin and will pop up in the next week or so. Yes, human hair has uneven patterns of growth. While some hairs are actively growing, others may remain in a “sleeping” state. So for the best clean and long-lasting result we recommend waiting at least 6 weeks, but in many cases around 2 months is optimal if your goal is to reduce the overall amount of hair and gain an effect similar to laser removal.
Is sugaring painful?
Sugar waxing is much less painful compared to other waxing methods. The key secret is that sugar wax doesn’t stick to the skin and, as a result, it doesn’t cause pain on dispatch. For some regular customers it is completely pain-free, while others, especially “beginners”, may experience tolerable discomfort, which gets better with each next session of sugar wax due to the reduction of hair regrowth. In rare cases (approximately 1 in 1000 customers), some people may experience significant pain. In this case we advise stopping the hair removal session at no cost. So if you are in doubt, feel free to request appointment at zero financial risk.
Is male brazilian painful
You may be surprised, but male Brazilian is not the most sensitive waxing area. Many men notice that the chest is the most challenging zone. So if you have ever done chest waxing, then you will be fine with Brazilian, especially with sugar paste in experienced hands.
I’ve got ingrown hairs in my chest after waxing or shaving

The male chest is one of the most sensitive and challenging waxing zones.
There are a few main reasons that may cause ingrown hairs:

  • Quality of the hair removal session. Shaving or low-quality waxing will leave hair roots under the skin, and many of those hairs struggle to grow straight. In combination with broken or cut hair, it creates a needle-sharp end on the growing hair. As a result, the hair grows under the skin and causes inflammation.
  • Aftercare makes a difference. Even if hair has been removed properly, it is still critical to keep extremely high hygiene for the next 48 hours, avoid sweating if possible, and follow other aftercare recommendations.
