Everything you need to know about sugar waxing

I would like to try sugaring, but I’m scared. ⌄

It is OK to be worried, especially when you want to try sugaring or waxing for the first time. It is hard to trust a new specialist who you don’t know yet or expose some private parts such as the bikini area.
Here are few tips & tricks:

Think about a sugar waxing session like visiting a doctor. We are professional hair removal specialists who have already treated thousands of customers, and we treat every customer with respect and dignity.
There is no risk in coming to try sugaring with us. There is no pressure to continue the session. If at the beginning of the session you realize that sugar wax is not your thing, you can request to stop the procedure. There is no pressure or charge.

Do you do regular waxing or hot waxing? ⌄

No, hot waxing has just a few advantages over sugar waxing - it is a faster and cheaper hair removal method, which may work well for less sensitive areas such as legs or arms and if you don’t need a long-lasting result. Classic waxing cannot compete with sugaring on such zones as bikini or underarms where consideration of hair growth direction and body shape is vital. Sugaring allows us to achieve a longer hair-free result.

What length of hair is suitable for sugaring? ⌄

The optimal size is 5mm. In “urgent cases” :) it can be 3-4mm, but the result wouldn’t be that great. So, I would recommend having a length of 5-7 mm, especially if you try sugaring for the first time. There is no upper limit for hair length. If hair is longer than 7mm, then it is not a problem at all. Please don’t trim or shave it prior to the session. We can trim it for you if necessary, and there is no extra charge. Longer hair gives better grip to the sugar paste and allows us to remove hair effectively, giving you smooth hair-free skin for longer.

For how long does sugaring last? ⌄

The result depends on how long you waited after shaving. If you grow your hair for 1 month, all your hair will grow up by that time when you have sugaring and we could remove all of them. The result after that will be very clean and you will have soft and clean skin for 3-4 weeks. Sugar waxing removes hairs with roots and doesn’t cut them off, as a result, with each next procedure the hair is getting softer, thinner, brighter, and less noticeable. Some customers enjoy their result for up to 2 months depending on the area and some other factors.

What is the best interval between hair removal sessions with sugaring? ⌄

Short answer is between 5-6 weeks and 2 months. And here is why: Sugaring removes hairs from the roots and extends regrowth time since the first session. Another thing to keep in mind is that hairs do NOT grow all at once, but rather in even groups, and if you come to the next session too early, then some hairs may be just about to reach the surface of the skin (we call them “baby hair”) and they will not be removed. The best result is achieved within a period of 7-8 weeks to 2 months after your last hair removal session, when all your hair has grown up. On the other hand, if hair grows too long, then roots become stronger and may cause unnecessary sensitivity during the hair removal session.

Is sugaring painful? ⌄

Sugaring is one of the most gentle hair removal methods, but it is not completely pain-free. Sugar wax makes the procedure more comfortable as it does not adhere to the skin. Dispatch method and experience of technician also make the difference. Sugar wax is quite warm, but not hot, it will not burn or irritate the skin. We use the 100% manual method - no tools, no strips, just hands, sugar paste and skill. We also use a special dispatch technique which helps to reduce the sensitivity of your skin and get an even more comfortable experience during hair removal sessions. For the most comfortable experience we recommend to have time between sessions no longer than 2 months.

Can I do brazilian waxing with sugar wax? ⌄

Absolutely! Brazilian waxing is where sugaring does its best work and no other method can compete with it. If you did regular Brazilian waxing before, then you will admire how gentle sugaring is and how long skin remains hair-free. Also, sugaring has better “penetration” - I mean sugar wax removes hairs from the root while considering body shape and direction of hair growth. For example, with sugaring, there is no problem at all extracting 100% of hairs between the buttocks and all around the bikini lips. Can I do eyebrows shaping with sugar waxing? ⌄

How to care for the skin after sugar waxing? ⌄

Generally speaking for the two days after sugaring you need to keep your skin ultra-clean, avoid contacts, sweating, and swimming. Since day 3, you need to keep your skin moisturized and do exfoliation every 3 days during the hot shower. Learn more about aftercare.

Is it safe to do sugaring during pregnancy? ⌄

In general, it is safe to do sugar waxing during pregnancy. It is a less painful and safer hair removal method compared to waxing or laser hair removal. We have already provided hair removal sessions for many women who chose to get rid of unwanted hair in the bikini area in order to prepare for the due date. However, it is always better to raise this question with a doctor or your midwife.
